A mistrial was declared on Friday in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the woman charged with the murder of her three children. The declaration of a mistrial came after the defence filed a last-second appeal, which was denied by Judge William Sullivan.
The declaration of a mistrial means that the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Plymouth County’s district attorney can now decide whether to seek a retrial. The jury was reportedly deadlocked with an 11-1 vote about Clancy's culpability in this case.
