Everything seemed to be so very calm as I arrived at Tel Aviv airport from Athens. In fact, there were many fewer people than usual bustling about. The upside of this is that you pass through passport control and security checks much quicker. We held our monthly discretorium (the Franciscan custodial governing body, of which I am a member) and then I set off, with my confrere Fr Carlos Molina, an Argentine friar, to visit our brethren in Galilee – this time wearing my hat as president of the Commission for Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation.
