It seems every month or so, some slick-talking politician, in a thinly veiled bid for a 2028 presidential nomination, releases a grand plan for some kind of family-focused policy, whether that’s universal childcare, mandatory paid maternity leave or some other kind of new public welfare project that promises to enable the family to survive the dual-income household that has become a necessity in the past couple of decades.

Catholics of both stripes, Left and Right, tend to naively applaud such policy recommendations. Now, at last, we have a pro-life politician!
