Despite the postponement of his beatification, devotees of Archbishop Fulton Sheen (right) will be taking part in a novena, from yesterday until Friday December 20, to pray for his canonisation “for touching the hearts of countless people”.

Westminster Cathedral will be holding Christmas Celebration concerts at 7.30 pm next Wednesday and Thursday, with celebrity readers and the cathedral choir and orchestra. Tickets from £10 to £50 are available from the cathedral gift shop and at ticketmaster.com. The London Oratory is holding its annual carol service next Thursday at 7.30 pm.
