Migrants, immigrants and refugees are people of courage and faith, and migrant children “carry the face of Christ”, said Bishop Cristiano Barbosa in a video released by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) for the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees.
The theme of this year’s observance, which is set by Pope Leo XIV, said Bishop Barbosa, was “simple yet challenging: ‘Even just one of these children’”. Bishop Barbosa, a native of Brazil who moved to the United States during graduate school, is an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston.
