Fusionism: Liberty, Virtue, and the Future of the American Right explores the history of fusionist philosophy. Slade, who serves as senior editor of the libertarian magazine Reason, characterises “fusionism” as a merging of classical liberalism’s defence of individual freedom with the good virtues inherent in the Judaeo-Christian traditions. Fusionism, she says, was once a key philosophy for the American Right and is one that can and should make a return to prominence.
