The head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales had given his reaction to Pope Francis’s latest encyclical Dilexit Nos.
In welcoming the publication of Pope Francis’s fourth encyclical, “Dilexit Nos – Encyclical Letter on the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ”, Cardinal Vincent Nichols has drawn attention to how the Letter is meant for everyone and that its focus is on the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ.
He emphasises that the Sacred Heart of Jesus is “the source of living water that moves us and enables us to reach out to others, to offer forgiveness, to make amends for our failings, to seek to build healing relationships of faithfulness and service".
The cardinal also stresses that the encyclical offers great hope, especially for those who may be suffering, and he recommends that anyone who is "broken-hearted, or feeling empty of heart, or yearning for love" should "come and read this Letter".
