Pope Francis has warned against the use of genetically modified foods in a message to mark World Food Day.
In his message for World Food Day, which was observed on October 14 and promoted by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, the Pope said that a growing number of people seem to "believe they are omnipotent, or able to ignore the cycles of the seasons and to improperly modify the various animal and plant species, leading to the loss of variety that, if it exists in nature, has and must have its role."
