The renowned US television show 60 Minutes featured an interview with Pope Francis on Sunday night.
The prime-time program showed segments from an interview that the Pope did with CBS News (the abbreviation of Columbia Broadcasting System), his first one-to-one interview with a US TV network, in which Pope Francis spoke about immigration, surrogacy and clerical abuse.
Debuting in 1968, the 60 Minutes program distinguished itself from other news programs by using a unique style of reporter-centred investigation. It came to be regarded as “one of the most esteemed news magazines on American television”, according to the New York Times.
