The leftwing website FiveThirtyEight has reported a decrease in the numbers of abortions in the United States since the US Supreme Court decision in Dobbs overturned Roe v Wade. Taking account of the decrease in the number of abortions in states where the deadly procedure was made illegal after Dobbs and the increase in States elsewhere where it remained legal, it found that there were about 10,000 fewer abortions overall. They also concluded that “if these trends persist, there could be at least 60,000 fewer abortions in the next year as a result of the Dobbs decision”.
