NEW YORK – In a letter to Senators, four American Bishops’ Conference chairmen argued that there is no scenario where in vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a morally acceptable means of pregnancy.

They said that legislation to establish a federal right to such procedures should not be passed because it involves the creation and destruction of surplus embryos.

The teaching of the bishops was rejected out of hand by President Joe Biden, who claims to be a Catholic, when he was asked by a reporter from EWTN about his opinion on the subject.
