Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller has discussed the famous pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres and its increasing popularity, especially among Catholic youth.
In an interview with kath.net, the popular traditionalist cardinal describes the “courage for a young person to publicly profess Jesus Christ and his Church in front of his peers and in front of a post-Christian zeitgeist that prides itself on its intellectual and moral superiority over religion is to be admired”.
The German cardinal is in a good position to comment on the consequences of this communal demonstration of faith, as he was invited by the organisers of the 2024 pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres to celebrate the concluding high mass in Chartres Cathedral and to give the sermon, reports Catholic World Report in an article that features the kath.net interview.
