John Henry Newman will be canonised on Sunday, October 13, during Mass at the Vatican attended by Prince Charles and a delegation of British parliamentarians. Also in attendance will be Neil Mendoza, the Provost of Oriel College, where Newman was a Fellow, and Dame Hilary Boulding, President of Trinity, where Newman did his undergraduate studies.

Sunday is also the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima in 1917. The day is closely associated with Our Lady and the rosary, and will be marked by nationwide events such as the Rosary Coast to Coast in the US and Rosary Across India.

On Saturday October 19, the Franciscan Sisters and Friars of the Renewal will lead a retreat at Our Lady of Willesden Church in London. The day starts with Mass at 10am and includes Confession, Adoration, a Eucharistic healing service, talks and Benediction. To find out more and to register, email willesden@rcdow.org.
