Thousands of Irish schoolchildren are expected to participate in the global One Million Children Praying the Rosary campaign on October 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, for peace in the world. Organised by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), the campaign last year saw more than one million children officially register and participate globally.

Brandon Scott, the Irish coordinator for One Million Children Praying the Rosary, said the support for the campaign exceeded expectations.

“We have had so many schools and parishes express an interest about coming on board to pray for peace, especially in Gaza.  People feel so helpless, but prayer is the one thing that they can do,” he said.
