Voter turnout during the 2024 US presidential election indicates that white Catholics are increasingly likely to vote for the Republican Party. Available polling data also indicates that their choice of vote is just as likely, if not more so, to be driven by economic factors as it is by Church teaching on the likes of abortion.
While the exact breakdown of the Catholic vote in the election remains unclear, one expert notes that exit polling data suggests that in future elections white Catholics can be pencilled in as a significant GOP voting bloc (GOP stands for the Grand Old Party, the nickname for the Republican Party).
