The Vatican-owned Bambino Gesù hospital has offered to take Charlie Gard, the severely ill 10-month-old baby whose parents are fighting to keep him on life support.
Mariella Enoc, president of the hospital, said they were reaching out to Great Ormond Street Hospital in Britain, offering to take care of baby Charlie.
Great Ormond Street is scheduled to turn off Charlie’s life support against his parents’ wishes after courts ruled doctors, not the parents, had the right to decide. His parents are also barred from taking him home for the last hours of his life.
