St Benedict’s Catholic School in Ealing, west London, has achieved Bronze Investors in People recognition.
The executive summary report says: “If the spirit of Investors in People lives anywhere, it lives at a lovely school in the Borough of Ealing called St Benedict’s staffed by some equally super people.” Investors in People takes into account how the Benedictine school promotes and encourages the personal development of its staff. The frameworks of the awards are outcome-focused, offering a flexible and non-prescriptive approach to organisations
of all shapes and sizes. Achieving an award recognises a wide range of successful procedures but the framework encourages organisations to improve further.
To achieve Bronze status St Benedict’s had to satisfy a further 26 evidence requirements on top of the standard requirements.
Norman Hull, the director of continued professional development at St Benedict’s, who was responsible for co-ordinating the school’s application, said: “I am very pleased the assessor has recognised the progress that St Benedict’s has made since the last assessment. We have been encouraged to go for Silver status next time and will be working over the next couple of years to meet the requirements for the higher award.”
The school was applying for re-accreditation, having achieved the standard award twice since December 2004.
