The celebrations of St John Henry Newman’s canonisation are not over yet. Tonight at 7.30 there will be a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Birmingham Oratory, which he founded and where he spent the second half of his adult life. The celebrant is Archbishop Bernard Longley of Birmingham. The Oxford Oratory’s thanksgiving Mass is on Sunday 20. See newmancanonisation.com.

On Monday October 28, a film (pictured) on the life of St Faustina Kowalska, the Polish nun who spread the Divine Mercy devotion, will be shown on more than 200 screens across the US. Details at fathomevents.com/events/ faustina-love-and-mercy.

St Peter’s Players will perform Without Words, a play by Fr Frank Daly and a group of young people, at the Mary Forryan Centre in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
