The week ahead: St Monica, passion play, Divine Mercy

August 27 is the Feast of St Monica, the mother of St Augustine, whose prayers did so much to bring about his conversion. The Diocese of Wilmington in Delaware has an annual St Monica Teardrop Devotional Mass, at which to pray for those who have fallen away from the faith. It is at St Joseph on the Brandywine, Greenville at 6pm.

In Havant this weekend, there will be performances of the Passion play Behold the Man in Havant Park. Performances of the play are at noon and 3pm on August 17, and 3pm on August 18. Entrance is free; be sure to bring something to sit on.

On Sunday August 18, there is a Divine Mercy retreat at the parish of St Edward the Confessor, Golders Green. The retreat, which includes a talk, begins at 2pm with praise and worship, and ends at 5pm with the veneration of a relic of St Faustina Kowalska (left). No registration is required.
