Father Marko Rupnik was approached by a journalist at a Rome airport who questioned him about accusations he sexually abused over 40 adult women across the span of several decades.
Italian journalist Roberta Rei with the television program La Iene confronted Rupnik, who faces numerous allegations of abusing female religious, at the baggage claim of Rome’s Fiumicino airport, where the priest reportedly arrived from the Schengen area along with a friend or assistant on 10 March.
In a video of the encounter, published on social media, Rei approaches Rupnik and introduces herself, before repeatedly asking if he has a response to allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct from the women who have accused him.
