In the week that the Vatican finally dealt with the burning issues of the political day and laid down the necessarily strict guidelines which are to govern tattoos in the workplace, it seems rather frivolous to reflect on the political events of the last forty days and the campaigns that have laid waste to the political landscape in Europe and North America: frivolous but important.
As confessions go, it probably doesn’t count for much even from a clergyman but I like politics and am gripped when election time comes round.
