The Republic of Ireland’s bishops are calling on voters to remember the right to life – at every stage – as the country prepares for elections. They have framed this need within the requirement for better Church-State dialogue in the face of increasing “diminution” of respect for life, both at the start and end of the natural life span.
“The current structures for Church-State dialogue are not functioning for the greater good of society and are in need of review,” the Irish bishops say in a statement issued on 20 November.
