Archbishop John Wilson has pointed to a “growing sense of confidence” among Catholics in Great Britain, saying that there is a movement to have once again the “Catholic faith in our country at the very heart of everything”.
The Archbishop of Southwark is well known for his charismatic personality, and the lines of people queuing to greet him at the recent WeBelieve festival were ample testimony to that.
Speaking exclusively to the Catholic Herald on the sidelines of the event, Archbishop Wilson praised the festival for drawing together “all the facets of the Church in England and Wales”, while also demonstrating a newfound vitality among British Catholics.
