A boy from Orwell Park School has won a scholarship to Ampleforth for the third year in a row. Nick Kramers won an academic scholarship to the Benedictine secondary school. He is currently captain of Orwell Park School’s rugby XV, and has represented the Eastern Counties and also led the Midlands team at the UK Prep School Trials, held recently at Rugby school where William Webb Ellis is said to have invented the game in 1823. Headmaster Rowland Constantine described Nick as an all-round attribute to Orwell Park not only on the sports field but in all aspects of school life. His sports teacher Mr Alex Brunt said that Nick is one of the best rugby captains the school has had in recent years, having led the team to a very successful season, and will be missed next year. But Orwell’s loss is Ampleforth’s gain. Nick himself is very excited at traveling up to Ampleforth and to the reunions with his former school friends.
