The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP), Great Yarmouth Branch, has received a donation of £366. The money was raised by Tony Baker of the Norwich Circle of the Catenian Association. Mr Baker holds an annual concert at his spacious barn-conversion near Acle. The concert usually attracts about 80 people and is aimed at raising funds for various charities. This year’s nominated charity is the SVP. The SVP is an international Catholic organisation founded in Paris in 1833. It is dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need. Active in England and Wales since 1844, today it continues its work against poverty.
