The Universe is to move to a Berliner format, it was announced today. Joseph Kelly, the editor of the Catholic newspaper, said on Twitter: "Universe Media Group is moving to Guardian Print Centre, Manchester at Easter. Going up to Berliner format in July. An even better RC paper." He added: "New chapter about to open in the 155-year history of The Universe. More than ever we need the best possible RC paper to support the faithful through parishes. Despite its larger Berliner format, and new pullout sections and content, from July the Universe will remain at £1.30 – no price increase." The Universe was founded in 1860 by the writer Archibald Joseph Dunn. Its offices are currently in Deansgate, Manchester.
