Catholics cannot say they accept the reforms Second Vatican Council while rejecting its liturgy, Pope Francis has said in a fresh assault on traditional rites.
The Holy Father made his remarks in a letter on the liturgy published nearly one year after he issued the motu proprio Traditionis custodes, restricting the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass.
In the 15-page apostolic letter, Desiderio Desideravi, the Pope said he wanted “to invite the whole Church to rediscover, to safeguard, and to live the truth and power of the Christian celebration”.
