St Wilfrid’s drop-in centre in Sheffield has begun to serve clients with gourmet cuisine. Through a partnership with the community food network Fareshare a wide range of gourmet food has been available at meal times. The centre provides a three-course menu for £1.50 and clients have recently enjoyed such delights as smoked trout, venison and lamb cutlets. The meals prepared by volunteers at the centre under the direction of catering supervisor Pam Corkell, go more than that extra mile to keep the clients well-fed. Bishop John Rawsthorne of Hallam recently completed his annual charity walk in aid of St Wilfrids in order to help to subsidise food bills.
