A fire broke out at the Catholic chaplaincy at the University of Kent in the early hours of this morning. The fire brigade were called to the building on St Thomas Hill in Canterbury at 2.30am but it is believed that no one was in the building at the time. Four fire engines were used to tackle the blaze which has now been extinguished. It is understood that the fire was started by an electrical fault.
