Italy’s civil unions bill ‘a defeat for the family’
Archbishop Bruno Forte of Chieti-Vasto has said the approval of a bill granting legal recognition to couples outside marriage was a “defeat for democracy and family life”, as the Italian government had avoided “free and open debate” on the issue.
