Family super-dicastery to open in September
The new Vatican office for laity, family and life will begin functioning on September 1, when the separate pontifical councils for laity and for the family will “cease their functions”, the Vatican has announced. The new council will be headed by a cardinal or a bishop.
Archdiocese offers £45m to abuse victims
The Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis, which filed for bankruptcy last year, is setting aside £45m of its assets for abuse victims.
