Pro-lifers march in Belfast ahead of ruling
About 1,000 people joined a pro-life march in Belfast ahead of a ruling on whether Northern Ireland’s restrictions on abortion are compatible with human rights legislation. A similar number of pro-choice protesters also gathered in the city centre.
Former Labour MP is made a papal knight
Tom Clarke, who served as an MP from 1982 to 2015, has been made a Knight of St Gregory the Great. The honour was announced by Bishop Joseph Toal of Motherwell.
