The Chicago White Sox honoured Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday night, with a full-stadium ‘Pope hat’ giveaway and a host of other events highlighting the city’s Catholic culture. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Sister Mary Jo Sobieck, a Dominican sister, and during the fifth inning, there was a ‘sign of peace’ exchange led by Chicago priest Fr Tom Hurley.
While the White Sox lost the game, it seemed as though a good time was had.
