One of the priests who survived the knife attack on a Benedictine convent in Poland has urged people not to shift blame from the Ukrainian suspect to his country of origin, as he asked for prayers for the man. Fr Adrian Mantykiewicz, who spoke during his homily still bruised and with his head and arm bandaged, was honoured alongside Fr Marek Pieńkowski with the Jan Karski Mission Medal.
Fr Stanisław Zbojnowicz was killed and four others injured during the September 24 attack in Jarosław. One priest is in critical condition.
