Reports that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has made a final decision on Medjugorje are incorrect, according to Vatican-watcher Andrea Tornielli. Patriarch Louis Sako has proposed that the Chaldean Church, the Assyrian Church of the East and the Ancient Church of the East form "a single denomination" called the Church of the East. Up to two million people are expected to attend the papal Mass in Philadelphia in September (video). The Church tried to protect its good name by veiling abuse cases in "a shroud of secrecy", Cardinal Seán Brady has told an inquiry in Northern Ireland.
