There’s been a lot of speculation about the numbers for the new Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham and varying reports on how many Anglican priests ceased their ministry on Ash Wednesday in order to join the ordinariate. They have begun preparation for reception and ordination. The numbers have ranged from 20 priests and 200 people to 75 priests and almost 1,000 people. Fr Keith Newton, the Ordinary, said today that at present “it looks like over 60 priests and about 750 lay people” are set to join the ordinariate.
