A Harley-Davidson motorbike, which was blessed by Pope Francis, is to be sold at auction in Paris. The Harley-Davidson was donated to Pope Francis last year, which he subsequently signed and decided to auction in order to raise money for charity. The 1,585cc Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide was given to the Pope in June 2013 along with another bike to mark the 110th anniversary of the motorcycle brand. The bike is to be auctioned by Bonhams at the Grand Palais on February 6. The money from the sale will go towards a soup kitchen and hostel for the homeless in Rome. The bike is estimated to be worth £12,000. The Bonhams auction house noted Francis' "preference for modest modes of transport" in a statement Monday. Ben Walker, head of motorcycles at Bonhams, said: “We are incredibly honoured to be selling this item on behalf of Caritas Roma. We hope to be able to do both Pope Francis and Harley-Davidson proud by raising a significant amount of money for a very worthy cause.”
