Catholic pupils at St Bede’s College in South Manchester staged a harvest festival as one of its autumn term charity events.

Pictured above are some middle school pupils who organised a special assembly to highlight the festival.

Katherine Griffin, head of Lower Fourth and RE teacher, said: “As part of harvest festival celebrations, the middle school students collected gifts of dried food stuffs. They also made freshly baked cakes which were donated to local families in the area. Sixth formers also had their own harvest collection this week with large hampers of food and toiletries being sent to the homeless shelter, Cornerstone.”

Last year the College raised more than £27,000 for charity.
