A leading anti-poverty Catholic charity is calling on the UK's new Labour government to tackle rising poverty rates in parts of the country.
The St Vincent de Paul Society (England and Wales) says urgent action is needed by British politicians, and has called on Sir Keir Starmer's recently formed government "to create a society where no one is left behind".
The call comes as the SVP charity is experiencing a significant increase in demand for its services in parts of England and Wales. The Catholic charity offers a range of services including food and clothing banks, low-cost shopping and well-being support groups.
