Braden Peters, the streamer and internet personality better known as “Clavicular”, was recently charged with rape in Massachusetts, multiple media outlets reported on Monday, September 21.
Peters, 20, was also charged with one count of “drugging someone for sexual intercourse” and one count of “procuring liquor for someone under 21 years old”. The incident allegedly occurred on May 23, 2025, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Peters would have been 19 years old at the time.
The charges were filed on September 8 and first reported by the website The Bulwark. Peters is set to be arraigned on October 14 in the Orleans District Court on Cape Cod.
While the name of the alleged victim was not in the charges, as is typical in Massachusetts, the events described match another suit filed earlier in 2026.
In April 2026, Peters was sued by an influencer in Florida. That influencer, Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza, claimed in the civil suit that in May 2025, Peters took her to Cape Cod, gave her alcohol and then had sex with her while she was too drunk to consent.
In the Massachusetts charges, Mendoza said Peters gave her “cups” of alcohol while live-streaming a broadcast on the internet, and instructed her to say she was 18 at the time when she was actually 17. The two then had sex after the stream, she said.
Mendoza further claimed in the Florida lawsuit that Peters had injected her in the face with a fat-dissolving drug, causing emotional distress.
On Monday night, Peters posted several things on X, formerly Twitter, disparaging Mendoza and sharing a video of the two of them together.
“Trying to get my attention in anyway [sic] possible, a lawsuit? Seriously … really petty of you,” wrote Peters.
Peters reportedly overdosed and was hospitalised in Miami back in April 2026. In a livestream from the hospital, he swore off drugs, saying: “I ain’t gonna be doing any more substances for a little while, hopefully for forever.”
That same month, he and two others were charged with shooting at an alligator and were given six months’ probation and community service hours.
Peters popularised the “looksmaxxing” trend, which was recently added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. “Looksmaxxing” is defined as “the practice of taking one or more sometimes extreme or dangerous measures intended to increase one’s physical attractiveness”.
In Peters’ case, he was known for “bonesmashing”, or using a hammer to break the bones in one’s jaw or face so they grow back more “chiseled” or attractive. This practice has been decried by experts at the Cleveland Clinic, who say there is no evidence this occurs. He also claims to have used performance-enhancing drugs since his middle school years.
Peters has also recently been more open about his Catholic faith, to which he was baptised at the age of 17. He attended Seton Hall Preparatory School, an all-boys Catholic school in West Orange, New Jersey, which was his first encounter with religion.
Peters also briefly attended Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, but was expelled after less than a month after being found with steroids in his dorm room.
