God has blessed humanity with an unparalleled gift: His saving power, His love. He expressed love first by creating the world and then by creating us in His image so we may love one another.
But God's love didn't stop there. He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Through Jesus, God's love took on a human face, and when we remember Him on the Cross and eat the Eucharist, we are reminded of this love.
It is no wonder that many have performed charitable deeds for others in Jesus' name, even at great sacrifice. For when they do, God's saving power flows through them like an unrestrained wild river.
