The car that was used to drive Pope Francis around Philadelphia during last year’s papal trip to America has sold at auction for $82,000 (£57,000). The auction for the small black Flat 500L drew more than 19 bidders in just 11 minutes at the Philadelphia Auto Show, one of six used during the Pope’s visit to the United States last year. It was in the city that the Pope attended the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. The winning bid was put made by Michael and Kate Chapman of Chapman Auto Stores in the city, with the money going to Archdiocese of Philadelphia. A new Fiat 500L sells for $19,000 in the United States.
