Twenty Muslim doctors and surgeons attended a Mass in Manchester on Sunday. Dr Manzar Ul Haq led the group of doctors and surgeons who turned up at the Holy Name Church in the city holding placards which read: "Together we unite - mourning the loss of human life" and "Violence - not in our name" The group were greeted by senior Jesuit chaplain, Fr Tim Byron SJ and several hundred worshippers and Catholic students. Dr Ul Haq spoke at Mass about the need to live in peace and harmony and said that the majority of Muslims opposed senseless violence. Dr Ul Haq said on behalf of the group that: "The group appreciated the help and support provided by the local priest in welcoming them at such a sensitive time".
