Pope Francis has urged people not to fret about "all they still haven't" done to prepare for Christmas, and instead "think of all the good things life has given you". The Pope made the remark during a homily on Gaudete ("rejoice") Sunday at the parish of San Giuseppe all’Aurelio in the suburb of Monte Spaccato in Rome. As the Pope arrived at the parish children held up banners wishing him a happy birthday. Francis turns 78 on Wednesday. According to Vatican Radio, he said in his homily that it "hurts to see Christians with a bitter face, restless with bitterness because they are not at peace". He said that "saints have the face of joy", and that no one has ever seen a saint with “a sad face”. Francis said Christian joy came from prayer and from giving thanks to God. “Do not forget joy,” he said after the Mass. “Give thanks to God, and bring help to those in need.”
