Pope Francis has prayed for peace in Korea following the upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Pilgrims gathered on Sunday, June 10, in St Peter’s Square for the recitation of the Angelus. This was followed by a call for the group to recite the Hail Mary together in order to pray for the two leaders.   “[I hope] the talks which will take place in the coming days in Singapore can contribute to the development of a positive path that guarantees a peaceful future for the Korean peninsula and for the whole world,” the Pope said. Trump and Kim are set to talk on Tuesday, June 12 for the first-ever meeting between a North Korean leader and current US President. Pope Francis previously mentioned peace for North Korea on April 29, at the Regina Caeli and sent a letter to church leaders in Korea to pray for the talks. “Let us together invoke Our Lady, Queen of Korea. May she guide these talks,” the Pope said.
