Prince William will represent King Charles III at the funeral of Pope Francis this Saturday.
The Prince of Wales will join world leaders, including UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, US President Donald Trump and France's President Emmanuel Macron at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, the BBCreports.
The British state broadcaster notes that the King has spoken of the "devastating loss" due to the death of the Pope, and praised his compassion in a statement issued by the Palace; flags were flown at half mast on royal residences following news of the Pope's death at the age of 88 following a stroke and heart failure.
