Sunday the 24th will be the first feast of St Oscar Romero since his canonisation last year. The week leading up to the feast will see events around the country including the consecration of a new shrine at Sacred Heart, Lauriston, Edinburgh – a church which has a first-class relic of the saint. Archbishop Leo Cushley will consecrate the shrine at the 10.45am Mass.

Monday the 18th is the centenary of the birth of Elizabeth Anscombe, a major figure in modern philosophy, a stalwart defender of Church teaching and a pro-life activist. Oxford’s Anscombe Centre is hosting a one-day symposium.
