A documentary short film produced by the Vatican is hoping to secure an Academy Award nomination during the upcoming awards season.
“Green Lava”, a 39-minute documentary about a man named Giacomo Mattivi who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, recently had a screening run at the Lumiere Music Hall in Beverly Hills, California.
Following the limited run in a cinema, the film’s production team is able to submit paperwork to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The film, if chosen, would be eligible for the “Best Documentary Short Film” category at the Academy Awards.
