Run in the style of a synod, the highly anticipated Vatican meeting on Amoris Laetitia begins next week in order to learn from “the experience” the Church has gained in the ten years following the text’s publication, though no specific time is set aside to deal with the immense controversy it generated.
Vatican journalists were briefed on Friday about the upcoming 8-day meeting, with the full schedule published and methodology points outlined. The meeting will run from the afternoon of October 7 to 14 and will see the heads of bishops’ conferences and Eastern Churches gather at the Vatican for the event.
